Chocolate Lava Cat Cake
Anime: Acchi kocch (place to place)
Appearance: episode 2
Time: around 1 hour
Serving: depends on the tin size this batter should make a lot
So this is my first time making a chocolate lava cake with well anything other than a normal ramekin or small metal cake pan so it took awhile. The problem is this type of cake is really just an under cooked cake, that's why the center is all liquified or gooey, but you need to have the right heat/timing for it to get really nice and it takes quite a few tries. With my last try I only got to gooey, if you want it to be more liquified I would suggest adding a little bit of water. I didnt realize this because the tins were such an issue it wasnt till I had the tin right that I noticed it. Anyway! here is the recipe! I would play around with the time and heat depending on the type of oven you have because that along with the batter texture will be what determines how your cake comes out.
Edit: omg this goes to show you what happens when I'm over worked… I thought I changed on the bottom to post this but I saved it as a draft.

Ingredients:
4 oz bittersweet chocolate
¾ cups semi sweet chocolate
¼ cup of flour
¼ cup of sugar
1 egg
¼ cup butter at room temperature
some water for the double boiler
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. and butter the cake pans.
Melt the butter and chocolate in a double boiler. I suggest you melt the chocolate and butter this way because you have less of a chance of burning it.
Once that is melted mix the flour and sugar in a separate bowl and add to the chocolate mixture
Crack an egg into the chocolate and mix! If the cake batter looks like it is too thick (my picture is actually too think sorry I realized after backing it hahaha) add a little at a time water 2 tablespoons at most! This way it's a bit more smoother.
Spoon them into the molds and bake for 8-12 minutes. The sides should be firm but the top should giggle a little.
Take them out and let them cook for about 5-10 minutes. Remove them from the tin and serve! If you made the tin (see below) be careful when taking the tin apart. I would take the aluminum rolls off first and then take the sides off and remove the bottom.
Like I said mine was gooey in the center and it is hard to tell it is soft in the center. It's SO good and the cake tin I made worked out really well! I'm going to post the link along with my pictures below.
hehe look at the yummy gooey inside :)
Cake Tin Instructions:
So I found this tutorial: http://realisticidealist.blogspot.com/2012/10/dyi-make-your-own-cake-pan.html
I made my cake pan kind of small around the size of a cupcake circle. Because I figured it would cook better and be easier to make. I'm going to post the pictures of what I did so you can see and write basically what I did but the link does a much better job describing so definitely go there first.
First cut out some cardboard in the shape of the cat head.
use masking tape and make rolls of it so you can stick the aluminum foil to the cardboard on both sides.
Cut the shape out leaving a boarder about 1-2inchs thick.
Measure the outline of the cat head and measure it out onto another sheet of aluminum foil. Then cut a rectangle as long as the outline and thick enough to roll down.
Now roll down! you want to make the first roll about an inch and maybe a half and roll it till there is about 1-2 inches left
Now you're going to make little cuts on both the strip and the cat head…. well dont make them too little I did and it's a pain. so make them a bit bigger.
Now put the side up to the cat head and the tutorial said to twist i made mine too small so I had to roll them up. The tutorial has a really awesome video haha which was easier to follow.
do this to the whole cat head and then start to tape the inside so you fill any cracks. You dont want the cake batter to seep out.
There you go!! a home made cake pan!!!! ^o^!! have fun cooking!!
