Zulrah is a level 725 solo-only snake dominate. Players tin can only harm it with Ranged or Magic; though Zulrah can be reached with a halberd, it is immune to melee attacks. In lodge to admission Zulrah, players must have completed Regicide to the signal of reaching Port Tyras.
Before the player can fight Zulrah, they must speak with High Priestess Zul-Harcinqa offset and offer themselves as the sacrifice in identify of the gnome kid, as Zul-Gwenwynig will prevent the player from boarding the gunkhole until Zul-Harcinqa allows them to be the sacrifice.
Zulrah's gender is ambiguous; the Loftier Priestess besides every bit slayer masters refer to it equally male, while the examine text of Zulrah'south boss lair display refers to it as female.
History [edit | edit source]
As described in the stained periodical, Zulrah was created during the Dragonkin Conflicts as an experiment by an unnamed dragonkin living in the Toxicant Waste. Originally seen as one of many failures, Zulrah was discarded into the swamp, where it grew into an unexpectedly powerful and intelligent serpent. Information technology was found once over again past its dragonkin creator, who named it "Zulrah" before eventually being eaten by their ain cosmos.
Former during the 5th Historic period, Harcinqa's mother, Harcinqa, her daughter, and Rentos, her son, visited the Poison Waste. On fifth Bennath, a group of men, Ohn, Mortarium, Onan, and several others, attempted to escape the elven clans by running southward to the Toxicant Waste product. With no nutrient to eat, they attempted to fish for eels in the swamp, to no avail. With no luck on catching food, they decide to campsite out with the gnomes.
Two days afterward, Zulrah appeared during the night and ate five of Ohn's men before the group could get to their senses. The next day later on that, Harcinqa'due south mother attracted Zulrah'south attention with a giant campfire, and held out her son, Rentos, which it devoured immediately. The gnome woman was able to bargain a deal with Zulrah, promising to send it sacrifices and worshipping it as a god if it did not wipe the whole group out. Zulrah simply slithered dorsum into the swamp. The next twenty-four hours, Ohn'southward men began catching eels, which was interpreted every bit Zulrah agreeing to the deal. As the village of Zul-Andra was apace formed; coincidentally, the woman decided to call it Zulrah, which its Dragonkin creator had washed thousands of years ago.
Every bit a upshot, Zulrah is worshipped as a god, existence given sacrifices at a whim; in return, it allows the village of Zul-Andra to stand. Effectually year 169 of the Fifth Age, an adventurer discovered the hamlet and offered themselves as cede to save a gnome kid who was going to be sacrificed to Zulrah. Ferried to Zulrah's shrine, it emerged and attacked, but to its surprise, found that this offer was fighting back. Despite the utilize of its powers, the adventurer managed to defeat it, although it just slithered back into the swamp to recover.
Getting there [edit | edit source]
Zulrah's Shrine, with Zulrah's beginning stage shown.
Zulrah is located at a shrine due east of Zul-Andra. Players can quickly get hither by:
- taking a lease transport to Port Tyras then running s
- using the fairy band code B J Due south to the small isle west of Zul-Andra, and then leaping beyond the stepping stones (requires 76 Agility, tin be boosted)
- using a Zul-andra teleport scroll
All of these methods require completion of Regicide.
Zulrah'southward Shrine is accessed by boarding the sacrificial gunkhole. Upon entering the shrine, a still scene of the shrine will be shown with a prompted dialogue. Zulrah will appear as shortly as the histrion continues the dialogue or performs an action. The just way to escape from the shrine is by killing Zulrah, teleporting out, or dying.
Players can spectate a fight using a telescope located on an island north of Zul-Andra, which is accessed past using the fairy ring code D L R .
When a player defeats Zulrah, the drops will exist received under the player, much like cave krakens. A Zul-andra teleport scroll will also be dropped near the player, which cannot be picked up but can be used to return to Zul-Andra. To fight Zulrah again after, the player must return to the shrine via the boat.
Fight overview [edit | edit source]
A role player fighting Zulrah in its tanzanite form
The shrine is a pocket-size U-shaped island with two pillars in the middle corners, and Zulrah rotates in the swampy water around the island throughout the fight. It cannot be reached with melee (with the exception of halberds to which it is immune), making Ranged and/or Magic necessary to fight it. Impairment at Zulrah is capped at 50, with any hits greater than this corporeality dealing anywhere from 45-fifty harm.
Furthermore, it periodically switches forms that have varying resistance to Ranged and Magic, then using both is recommended. In turn, Zulrah attacks with Ranged and Magic, as well equally an avoidable Melee attack where it targets the player with its tail, depending on its grade. It can too summon snakelings, smaller versions of itself, on the platform to attack the thespian, forth with toxic clouds that bargain rapid harm if they stand in one.
Zulrah and its snakelings inflict venom with their attacks, an enhanced version of poison that increases its impairment the longer it has affected the histrion, starting at vi damage per hit and increasing up to twenty. Standard poison protection will only reduce it to regular poisonous substance and will not grant any immunity; anti-venom or anti-venom+ or wearing a serpentine helm are much more than effective for eliminating and preventing venom.
An overview of the fight's patterns
Zulrah has different forms throughout the fight, distinguishable by its colour, which designates its attack style and weakness. It changes forms by diving into the swamp and resurfacing somewhere else, which it does periodically. Information technology may spawn snakelings and toxic clouds in any form.
- When Zulrah is green, it attacks with Ranged. Information technology is weak to Magic.
- At approximately 2 minutes, Zulrah will be in its green form and assault with alternating Ranged and Magic attacks (colloquially called "Jad phase").
- If the fight takes a long fourth dimension (3+ minutes), it is possible for Zulrah to exist in its green form and attack randomly with Ranged and Magic.
- When Zulrah is blueish, it attacks with Ranged and Magic. Information technology is weak to Ranged. Due to the Magic attacks existence more mutual and more accurate, it is recommended to use Protect from Magic.
- When Zulrah is ruby-red, it uses a typeless set on wherein it swings its tail at the role player's position, which tin be avoided by moving two tiles away; if it hits, information technology will deal heavy damage and stun the actor. It is more resistant to harm than in the other two forms, simply Magic is typically more than effective than Ranged.
The forms and when and where Zulrah spawns snakelings and toxic clouds is not random: in that location are four possible patterns for the fight that dictate what information technology will practice side by side. It always starts in its green form and spawns toxic clouds to cover most of the loonshit, after which information technology is randomly chosen which of the four patterns the fight volition exist. Farther information tin can exist read on the strategy article.
Player death [edit | edit source]
Upon death at Zulrah, all items except the 3 most valuable will be held by the priestess at the Zul-Andra dock, who acts equally an Item Retrieval Service. Items held by the priestess are permanently lost if the player dies an unsafe death before reclaiming them. Some specific anomalies may occur with some items.
Players who take defeated Zulrah less than 50 times can obtain their items free of accuse; afterwards, they must pay 100,000 coins each fourth dimension they dice to reclaim their items. Ultimate Atomic number 26 players are unaffected by this regardless of their kill count; they volition continue to reclaim their items from the priestess for free, without employ of that chest card.[1]
Completion of the elite Western Provinces diary grants the player 1 free daily resurrection at Zulrah which restores all stats and allows the player to continue the fight from the electric current signal if they driblet to 0 hitpoints. This does not count equally a death for purposes such as losing hardcore ironman status as it is considered a "safe" decease. In gild to benefit from this perk again, the player must log in after the daily reset time.
